Would Hoover H3060 FloorMate SpinScrub 800 Floor Cleaner scratch a new hardwood floor?

I bought the floor cleaner Hoover H3060 FloorMate SpinScrub 800 Floor Cleaner for my new sealed hardwood floor. It did OK on vacuuming and nicely on cleaning but I am afraid it will scratch the floor. Any advice or experience? Is it safe for the floor?

What is a good bare floor vacuum cleaner?

My house is mostly Pergo flooring, with a few scatter rugs. I need a light-weight, upright vacuum that will actually pick up and leave the floors clean! Lots of animal hair, too.

RCA Kitchen floor cleaner robot 1966

The RCA Kitchen floor cleaner robot of 1966. Original clip conveniently reverses the film to imitate accurate homing feature. Possibly radio-controlled for the home-of-the-future demo. I may put a blog post on my site cyberneticzoo.com .

What is a decent floor cleaner?

I have always used a little dish soap in 1 gal water. I don’t care about shine and have linoleum. Just want it clean. Currently I rent the house and it was in pretty bad shape to begin with. I just want to make sure that using dish soap is a good idea. Is there a better floor cleaner? Anything I can mix together myself and use?

Make dirty floors clean with floor mops

Clean hardwood floors aren’t easy to maintain. One of the most effective tools for cleaning hardwood floors, or any type of flooring, is floor mops. If you want one of the finest quality all-cotton floor mops, look no farther than Fuller Brush.

Fine polished hardwood floors are one of the most impressive aspects to any home. A high-glossed, well-maintained hardwood floor will make the most ordinary room or home stand out. But there is the threats of just everyday living that will make your hardwood floors look dull and dingy. Every scuff mark and scratch will show, not to mention all the dirt and dust that is visibly noticeable. The facts are here; hardwood floors are easy to maintain with a little tender loving daily care. This can be achieved with little effort if you have a company that can offer you a great supply of floor mops. Even the least cared for floor will come to life and shine with warmth and beauty if you use floor mops on a regular basis.

There are some instructions you should follow before you use a wet mop on your floor. Not the least of which is making sure it is safe to use a wet mop. Damage can be caused to certain floors by water from a wet mop. You want to carefully follow all the manufacturers’ warnings before using a wet mop. If your floor will be damaged by water then you can use a dry mop. If it is determined that water is safe for your floor, by all means, use a wet mop.

When looking for a floor mop you should make sure it’s 100% cotton. Cotton is the best type of material you can get for absorbency. Cotton mop heads can get up spills that are four times their weight. If you’re looking for a great way to get dirty floors clean then cotton is the best. It may not be as hard as you think to find floor mops with a 100% cotton mop head. Just look for one with the prestigious Cotton Seal.

After you’ve found your 100% cotton floor mops you’re ready to do some floor cleaning. With very little effort you can make those tired old floors look like new again. Use your wet mop with a small amount of floor cleaner or polish to bring out the real shine. Don’t use too much, this isn’t a scenario where more is better. You’ll have a dull build up real soon if you do that. It’s not really hard to clean with a wet mop, just move around the room in a pattern from one end of the room to the other. Before you know it you’ll have super, shiny floors.

Recipes for a Cleaner Kitchen on a Budget

Do the prices of Lysol and other kitchen cleaners make you gasp in disbelief? With so much media hype surrounding name brand cleaning products, it’s no wonder that many people find themselves suckered into believing that these name brand cleaners are the only way to ensure that the kitchen is really clean.

In all actuality, the more harsh cleaners often contain chemicals and heavy fragrances that can cause a variety of unpleasant symptoms, such as: itchiness in the throat, watery eyes, and even the provocation of an asthma attack. Some of the more everyday cleaners—such as all-purpose sprays—are based off of age-old recipes that people have been using for years! Baking soda and vinegar are the main keys to having a shiny, odor-free kitchen and they cost next to nothing to purchase! Not only that, they will last a lot longer if you buy in bulk, so you save even MORE money!

Below are a few “recipes” for various homemade cleaning products that you can easily concoct on your own, and the best part is that none of them contain a drop of bleach!

All-Purpose Spray

2 tbsp baking soda
white vinegar
1 trigger spray bottle
essential oil of your choice (optional—it’s just for scent)

Mix all of the ingredients together in the bottle. Fifteen drops of essential oil should suffice for a pleasant scent.

Disinfectant

white vinegar
2 tbsp baking soda
20 drops tea tree oil
1 trigger spray bottle

Add baking soda and tea tree oil to the spray bottle. Fill about halfway with vinegar, then top up the rest of the bottle with water.

Oven Cleaner

baking soda
water
scour pad

Mix the baking soda and water to make a thick paste. Smear it all over the oven and leave it on overnight. In the morning, scrub well with water and the scour pad.

Fridge Cleaner

2 teaspoons baking soda
1 liter warm water

The trays and drawers can be washed in warm soapy water, then just spray the interior down with the baking soda/water mix and scrub away!

Floor Cleaner

1/2 cup white vinegar
1 gallon water
essential oil for scent

Mix the ingredients together in your mop bucket. About 15 drops of essential oil should be enough. Mop away as usual!

Glass Cleaner

1 cup rubbing alcohol
1 tablespoon white vinegar
1 cup water
1 trigger spray bottle

Mix together in a spray bottle and have at those windows, mirrors, and chrome surfaces!
